I am an artist. A somewhat insane, often-hyper, feminist, fangirlish artist with a distaste for minimalistic art, condescension, loud rap music, and pimento cheese. Stuff makes me gag, seriously.
I read evrything I can get my hands on, from novels to cereal boxes, draw, act and crochet. I like to make fandom dolls for whatever fandom I'm currently in.
I love music. I *breathe* music. Celtic-pop and b'way showtunes, emo and alternative rock and jazz, ocassionally opera, international and new age music, really basically anything I can get my hands on.
Far as politics go, I try not to get too involved; it only encourages them. The politicians I mean. I have, however, been described as a "flaming liberal rebel" which I suppose is spot-on.
I get obsessive over pop culture. Often, and deeply. Comics like Gloomcookie, Hellboy, X-men, and JLA; TV shows like Stargate, Doctor Who, Smallville and Battlestar Galactica; movies like V for Vendetta and Star Wars; books like Dragonriders of Pern; even broadway shows like Wicked and Phantom.
I draw, too. In fact, my ambition is to be a comic book artist a la Mike Mignola or Jim Lee. You know: a legend. Not some rate-and-a-quarter house-style hack: I want to be a big name. I want companies to offer me like MILLIONS to work for them. Grr. Yeah. Somehow I doubt that'll ever happen, but people can say they knew me when....
